Higashi-Oshima Shrine

東大島神社
In the middle of the Edo period, villages flourished based on the Onagi River water transportation, and five shrines (Eihei Shrine, Koyasu Shrine, Onagi Shrine, Kitahonjo Ushijima Shrine, and Minamihonjo Ushijima Shrine) were built as shrines. With the development of the town, the shrine became more lively, and festivals and events were held in a grand manner, but the entire townscape was reduced to ashes by the Tokyo air raid on March 10, Showa 20, and both the shrine and the shrine history were burned down. Along with the reconstruction of the townscape, there were calls for the reconstruction of the shrine, and in Showa 27, the five shrines were merged and a shrine was built on the current site, and in the following year, 28, a grand grand festival was held to commemorate the completion of the shrine. The townscape was also improved, and the original liveliness was restored, but as the months passed, many damage to the shrine and other buildings appeared, and the current shrine hall and assembly hall were built in Showa 53. In Heisei 14, the shrine was restored as a 50-year project, and in Heisei 19, the precincts of Tamagaki renovation work were carried out, and it became a shrine that welcomed everyone refreshingly and received the divine virtue of God even more.
