Tamagawa Suwa Shrine

This is Chinmori of the Tamagawa 2-chome district (former Hara district). It is said to have been founded in the Jowa year (834~848), and enshrines the spirits of Suwa Taisha in Shinano (Nagano Prefecture). Originally, there were two Suwa shrines in the village, and they were revered by the villagers as upper and lower shrines, but in February of the 13th year of Meiji (1880), the lower shrine was enshrined in the upper shrine. The current shrine was completed in August 2002.
