Tateishi Kumano Shrine

立石熊野神社
It was founded in the middle of the Heian period, during the Nagaho year of Emperor Ichijo (999~1003). More than 1,000 years ago, Kumano Ōkami was solicited by Prince Abe Haruaki, a well-known onmyoji. It is the only shrine in Tokyo related to Prince Abe and the oldest shrine in Katsushika Ward. When Emperor Huashan was practicing in Mt. Nachi, a tengu appeared and repeatedly interfered in various ways. Therefore, Prince Seimei prayed to contain a large number of tengu in the rock house, and the obstruction of the tengu subsided spectacularly, the emperor's training was successfully completed, and Prince Seimei, who had gained his trust, reached the height of his fame as an onmyoji. Prince Seimei accompanied Emperor Huashan on a three-year waterfall and mountain retreat in the land of Nachi Kumano. Later, during his journey in search of a pure holy place, he happened to stop by this place and selected this place.
