Unoki Hachiman Shrine

鵜ノ木八幡神社
In the first year of Entoku (1489), when Tenmei Goroemon Mitsutora moved to this area from Sano in Shimono Province (present-day Tochigi Prefecture), he enshrined Hachiman Ōkami as the guardian deity of the clan. More than 500 years have passed since its founding, and it has come to be worshipped as the chief god of the clan from the main god of the region. There were many repairs over the years, but the shrine built in 1849 survived until it was lost in the war. After that, in Heisei 12, the long-awaited shrine and shrine offices and other ancillary buildings were rebuilt with the donation of the revered clan and children, and on this occasion, the spirit of the shrine was solicited from Usa Jingu Shrine in Oita Prefecture, which is the general headquarters of Yawata, and the divine thought was further deepened, and it continues to this day as a new shrine with a spiritual experience.
