Enfukuji Temple

円福寺
Founded in the 5th year of Bunroku (1596) by Kato Kiyomasa. The meaning of receiving the benefits of good fortune and harmony through the merits of the "Myoho Lotus Sutra" is the origin of the name of the mountain and the temple. The statue of Soshi was carved by Nichiren when he was 49 years old. At the end of the Edo period, it became a prayer temple for the Tokugawa family, and after the Meiji Restoration, the Noctiluster Demon Mother Goddess, the Seven-Faced Daimyojin, and the Myomi Daibodhisattva, which were enshrined in Edo Castle, were moved to this temple.
