Former Mishima Shrine
元三島神社Our company enshrines the lives of Oyama Yoshimi and Isanaki and the lives of Waashihiko, Hime Mishima, Uetsuhime, and Shimotsuhime.
The annual grand festival is held on May 14 and 15 in honor of the time of the solicitation of the gods. (However, due to current traffic conditions, it will be on the second Saturday and Sunday of May.)
The former Mishima Shrine was originally given the title of General Guardian of Japan during the reign of the 62nd Emperor Enrō, and in the Meiji era, it was listed as a national currency shrine, and the only large shrine in Shikoku, the Oyama Gi Shrine, was given as the headquarters.
The origin of our company is due to the spirit of the head office Oyama Gi Shrine, and its source originates from the role of the fourth year of Koan.
In other words, it is said that in the fourth year of Koan, the brave general Kono Michiari and Mishima led the Mishima Navy to pray for victory at the Oyama Gi Shrine and asked for the blessing of the gods, and returned to Japan with military merit, and when he received a message from the gods in a dream and made a request for the Musashi Province of Oyama, he enshrined his spirit in the Kono clan's mansion in the Ueno Mountains.
After that, the company's fortune flourished through the Muromachi generation, and in the Edo era, the Tokugawa family received the shrine territory, but in the third year of Keian (1650) it was moved to Kanasugi Village at the time of the third shogun Iemitsu, and then in the sixth year of Hoei (1709) it became the site of the shogunate, and Asakusa Koyomachi was given as an alternative land.
However, the residents of the clan who have lived in Kanasugi Village for generations complained that the local departure of the god was indeed inconvenient, and after consultation with the villagers of Kanasugi Negishi, it was enshrined with the Kumano Shrine in the land of Kanasugi Negishi, and it was called the former Mishima Shrine and continues to this day.
The old shrine hall was rebuilt in Meiji 4, but after it was burned down in the war in Showa 20, it was built in Showa 22, but it was remarkably dilapidated, so it was newly built in April 51.
