Hatomori Hachiman Shrine

鳩森八幡神社
According to the "Edo Famous Places Chart", "Once upon a time, in the deep forest of this place, Mizuun sometimes appeared. At another time, white clouds descended from the blue sky and scattered above the clouds. The villagers were suspicious, and when they reached the bottom of his forest, they suddenly saw a large number of white pigeons, pointing to the west, and flew away. Accordingly, he built a small shrine and called it Hatomori. In the second year of Sadakan (860), around the time of Jikan Daishi Dongguo Yuka, he asked the villagers and other masters to beg for the divine body of Hatomori. Accordingly, in the reverence of the Usa Hachiman Shrine and the Joshu Hato Ridge, the Empress Jingong, the Emperor Ojin, the Kasuga Myojin, etc., shall be revered as the Shrine of Shohachiman." Because of this reizumi, we called our company Hatomori "Hatomori". Therefore, even if you write "Hatomori", it is formal to read it with "no". It is said that in the second year of Sadakan, Jikan Daishi (Ennin) relocated the Usa Hachiman Shrine to the Hachimangu Shrine in Yamashiro Province Iwashimizu (also known as Oyama) at the behest of the villagers during his tour of the Kanto region, and made statues of Empress Jingong, Emperor Ojin, Kasuga Myojin, etc., and revered it as Shohachimangu. According to this legend, the auspiciousness of our company is in the second year of Sadakan (860), so it was founded more than 1,000 years ago. The precincts are surrounded by many trees, and are popular as a shrine of relaxation for many people in all four seasons.
