Hikawa Shrine at the foot of Mt. Takao
高尾山麓氷川神社During the Onaga period (1391-1427), the lord of Katakura Castle, Mori Binaka Morishi, solicited the Hikawa Shrine in Musashi Ichinomiya. In July of the second year of Kanbun (1662), it was rebuilt and became the chief keeper of Takao. The ritual of the lion dance, which is dedicated to the annual festival, was served by the clan and children of the narrow period in the 5th year of the Meiji era, but now it is served by the clan of Hara (intangible cultural property of the city designated in Showa 35).
It is said that the shrine deity Sobon Naruson, who was about to be sacrificed, turned into a comb and inserted it into her hair, defeated Yamata no Orochi, and later welcomed her as a queen.
