It is said that the founding of our company began in the seventh year of Kōhei (1064) when Mutsu Morigen Yoriyoshi dedicated himself to the Emperor Mutsu Morigen Yoriyoshi, and after the pacification of the Eastern Provinces, he built a shrine in this area facing the Kamakura Highway, enshrined the divine spirit of the god Hachiman, and prayed for the victory of the war, the safety of the nation, and the prosperity of the Genji clan. In the past, there were many old trees and herons living in the temple grounds, so the villagers called it Sagimiya Daimyojin, which was the origin of the place name. In the second year of Shoho (1645), around the time of Imagawa Naofusa's domain, the name was changed to Hachiman Shrine. After the second year of Keian (1648), the Edo shogunate donated more than seven stones of the Imperial Seal, and it is the only shrine in Nakano Ward that has been granted the Imperial Seal, and it is a revered ancient shrine.
