Sakuragi Shrine
櫻木神社It is said that about 500 years ago, during the reign of Emperor Godo Mikado, Ota Michikan solicited the spirit of Sugawara Michishin from a shrine in Kitano, Kyoto, in the castle when he built Edo Castle, and built a shrine on the site of the former Sakura no Baba on the Yushima Plateau, and named it Sakuragi Shrine as the god of the soil in the vicinity. In the 3rd year of Genroku, Tokugawa Tsunayoshi established the Shohei Academy, which was relocated to its present location, that is, 275 years before he left the present.
The old shrine hall was founded by Emperor Higashiyama, but it was renovated in the third year of Emperor Taoyuan's treasure calendar 64 years later, and in 191 it was a temporary shrine hall due to the Great East Asia War of the Showa Era, but it was newly built in September of the 34th year of the Showa era, and it has been built and inaugurated to this day. This year, we decided to rebuild it, and fortunately, with the cooperation of the clan and child volunteers, we were able to see it completed.
