Sensoji Temple

浅草寺
Early in the morning of 628 (the 36th year of Emperor Suiko), the fishermen Himae Hamanari and Takenari found a Buddha statue caught in a net. When the brothers showed the Buddha statue to Tsuchishi Chuchi, an influential person in the area, they found out that it was a statue of the Bodhisattva Saint Kanzenon, and they built a hall and held a festival, which was the beginning of Sensoji Temple.
