Shirahata Hachiman Shrine

白幡八幡神社
When the Minamoto Yoshiie went to conquer Oshu, they set up a white hat at the crossing point of the Watanashi River and prayed for victory in battle, and that white hat was considered to be the origin of the name and was enshrined. During the Bunroku period, Ryokichi Sukube, who had moved from Enshu Ishide to Chiba in Shimoso Province due to a change of country, moved to Motoki Village, Adachi District, Musashi Province, cleared the land, and in the 3rd year of Keicho (1596), he developed the Sukube Juku in contact with Senjujuku. His descendant, the famous lord Shozaemon, dedicated the "Shirahata" handed down from his ancestors to the Hikawa Shrine (Senju Nakamachi) founded in the 2nd year of Genwa (1615) and enshrined it as "Shirahata Hachimansha". In September 1908 (Meiji 41), a shrine was built at the current location, and it was worshipped as a shrine of Hikawa Shrine. In April 1945 (Showa 20), the shrine was burned down by an air raid, but it was rebuilt in September 1959 (Showa 34) by Senju Miyamotomachi, Hirotaka Kunii, Kunii Gunya and others. Currently, it is also a shrine of Senju Shrine
