Shosenji Temple

According to the temple tradition, it is said that in the first year of Bunyo (1260), Katsusensha Sen Ajojin was founded, and Arai Masakatsu was the founder. When Nikko Province was developed in the Edo period, the palace of the Tokugawa family was built here, and Tokugawa Ietada, Iemitsu, and Ietsuna were used. In addition, there is a record of serving as a honjin servant such as the owner of the Nikko gate, and it is known that it was one of the bases of Senjujuku. In addition, the temple has many registered cultural properties that are deeply related to the history and culture of Senju. The wooden statue of Senju Kannon is said to be one of the origins of the place name of Senju, and it is said that Kaiki Arai Masakatsu's father, Masatsugu, raised it from the Arakawa River.
