Shōwa Inari Shrine
商和稲荷神社"The Origin of the Shang Wa Inari Shrine and the Ginkgo Tree"
(1) Around September of the 15th year of the Taisho era, the Inari Shrine was dedicated to the shops that lined up in this town at that time by the kindness of the late Mr. Zensuke Nozaki, a neighboring landowner, and after that, the shops gathered and formed a shop association, which was inaugurated under the name of Showakai, and became the Showa Inari Shrine as the guardian god of commerce after that name. The ginkgo tree was also dedicated as a sacred tree and remains so to this day.
(2) The current sacred tree (ginkgo tree) has become a large tree, but at that time a small tree with a diameter of 3 cm and a height of about 1.5 meters was planted.
(3) At that time, the Showa Inari Shrine was established as the guardian deity of the community with about 120 lecturers.
(4) The main body of the Showa Inari Shrine was given by the outer shrine of Ise, and in the Showa 30s and 40s, it was a volunteer lecturer of the shop association and the town association, and recently, in Heisei 8, as the newly established Shibuya Higashi Shotenkai, the conventional deity body was delivered, and a new deity body was received and a large number of lecturers participated in the worship of the shrine.
(5) The Shōwa Inari Shrine has become a small shrine built on a small amount of remaining land due to the widening of the Meiji-dori city planning work, but along with the 75-year-old ginkgo tree that was left as a sacred tree on the land owned by the city, it has been watching over the prosperity of business and the safety of the family as a guardian deity of the community.
From the past to the present, local seniors have protected it, and I pray that all the lecturers of the Shibuya Higashi Shotenkai volunteers will continue to protect and protect it in the future, based on commerce and harmony.
