Takagi Shrine

高木神社
It is said to have been founded in the Muromachi period in the second year of Onin (1468), and was revered as the guardian of the former Terashima Nitta, and was called the "Sixth Heavenly Shrine" in ancient times. In the early Meiji era, it was renamed "Takagi Shrine" due to the system of separation of Shinto and Buddhism. The name of the company is said to be due to the fact that another name for the god of the festival, the god of high spirits, is "the god of tall trees". In the past, there was a large Uryu pine tree in the temple grounds, which served as a landmark for the traffic of local people, including boats going up and down the Hikifune River. In January of Showa 42, the reinforced concrete shrine hall was renovated, and in November of Showa 43, the 500th anniversary of the shrine was held. In June of Heisei 30, the 550th anniversary of the Imperial Throne will be commemorated with the annual grand festival.
